The Pursgloves of Wentworth - [WENT]

Wentworth started as an Estate Village to Norman Earls after the battle of Hastings.  Little is known of the habitation before this time.  The current name come from the Wentworth and Wentworth-Woodhouse families who owned the land around 1250 AD and for the following 450 years.

The Old Church of the Holy Trinity was built in the 13th century and is now a ruin.  The new church of the Holy Trinity was commissioned in 1872.
